St Olas pier refurbishment

Project timescale: Manufacture December 2020 till Installation April 2021

Solway Precast was awarded the project to manufacture precast pier capping beams which would fit over the pile caps to form the new edge on the pier. There was an added challenge on the beams of a rounded galvanised metal edge so that the fisherman’s nets would not snag on the pier as they were offloaded for repairs. This was the second time that Solway Precast have worked on a pier in Scrabster with R J McLeod with the previous job around 10 years ago.
