Specialist Precast Products Manufacturer
Solway Precast Products Limited purchased the assets of Solway Precast at the Braehead manufacturing site at Barrhill in South Ayrshire mid-August 2012. The sites production facility reopened under the new management team until 2024 when a restructure of the business team took place with the retiral of 2 directors. A new management team was revealed by the owner and Managing Director Andrew Gillon announcing the current team of Directors. Greg Walton, Richard Kosak, Matthew Smith and Sally Donnelly to their new roles within the business management team.
The management team have further developed the business to offer high quality products for the following sectors, from Agricultural, Civil & Construction and Waste markets. Solway Precast Products Limited has the reputation of producing high quality precast products and this ethos has been taken forward by the new business team. The partnership has a wealth of knowledge of the concrete business, which has benefited Solway Precast and developed the current customer base. We pride ourselves with producing high quality precast products designed to meet the BSEN – ISO 9001-2015 standard.
The Braehead production facility in Barrhill has been developed for the production of the precast products. We are set in a 7-acre site which has good access to the A75 to Dumfries and Galloway and South, A77 North bound. We employ 45 employees within the following areas. The Joinery workshop where we manufacture moulds for the units to be cast is fully equipped with woodworking machinery. The rebar fabrication and cage manufacture facility for all products we manufacture. The agricultural products we manufacture include bespoke areas like, the pre-stressed beds where we manufacture the silo and stock wall panels, here we can manufacture standard sizes or bespoke lengths. In the slat making shed we have various moulds for the different ranges of slats we make to your sheds. All the other sheds are fully equipped with overhead cranes to handle the materials and products during the manufacturing process for our civil and construction products.
We have an onsite batching plant and a full storage area for the locally sourced sand and aggregates. We have a maintenance team who look after the equipment and work on metal mould adjustment. The site Technical team from engineer, estimator and designer are on hand to assist you with your project, and finally a friendly voice at the end of the phone to assist you with your enquiry. We also support local businesses with the transportation of the products to your site and from the local sand pit with the supplies for the concrete plant. We indirectly support many other jobs within the south west of Scotland community. Lastly we have developed an onsite Ukas accredited laboratory to carry out concrete testing to BSEN ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 as part of our quality handover package.
