Solway Structrual Steel's in-house drawing office uses state of the art 3D modelling software to produce millimetre accurate models of all building structures prior to fabrication.
This is particularly useful on projects where Solway provide both steel and precast concrete elements as the software can automatically check for clashes streamlining the co-ordination process.
We use the latest Tekla Structures software, which produces traditional general arrangement drawings for review by the client and the design team and can also produce 3D fly-through images that can be used to assist in the review process. This has proved to be invaluable on projects where connection details have been architecturally important.
Ultimately our software generates the fabrication drawings and NC data for our automatic cutting and drilling lines, thus producing structures that are ‘right first time’.
