Barr Quarries has been supplying the construction industry with high-quality materials for over 30 years.

Operating a network of strategically placed hard rock quarries, sand and gravel quarries, coating plants, and concrete plants, we provide a wide range of sands, gravels, crushed rock aggregate, coated roadstone and ready-mixed concrete products.  Our fleet of modern trucks and truck mixers provide an efficient and competitive service to a wide range of customers.

Production and manufacture of our products is carefully monitored by Heathfield Testing Services - our own NAMAS Accredited Laboratory. We ensure that stringent quality requirements are maintained, guaranteeing conformance with relevant British and European Standards. Our Quality Management Systems comply with ISO9001:2008, with third-party accredited systems for concrete and asphalt.

As an environmentally responsible company, we are conscious of the impact our operations may have on the environment. With this in mind, we have established controls that are incorporated and documented within our Environmental Management System third party accreditation ISO14001:2004.

Coated stone

Barr Quarries produces a range of high PSV aggregates for high-stress highway uses, along with BARTEX™ - a thin-pave surfacing solution used extensively on motorways and trunk roads.

Barr Quarries produces a range of aggregate products ranging from decorative stone to fill material, including:

  • Decorative stone
  • 65 & 68 high PSV aggregate
  • All fills and type one material
  • Armour rock and single sizes

Ready-mix concrete

From our strategically located quarries and plants throughout south-west Scotland we provide a full range of ready-mixed concrete products.

BARMIX™ ready-mixed concrete utilises low-shrinkage aggregates and we are able to supply high-quality concrete to meet specific customer requirements.
