Removal of recyclable materials from mixed waste streams diverts them away from landfill or incineration, and reduces the consumption of natural resources.

These recyclates can then be processed into new products.

Barr Environmental is focused on maximising recycling of the waste that it handles, which in turn promotes a more sustainable approach to waste management.

To this end, the company has already invested in excess of £5m in inert and biodegradable waste recycling infrastructure across all of its locations, and is now looking to expand this to the point where landfilling will reduce by a further 25% over the next few years.
