A landfill site is not simply a large hole in the ground into which rubbish is dumped.

They incorporate state-of-the-art containment systems that prevent the escape of pollutants and include dedicated leachate and landfill gas collection infrastructure.

Natural pest control methods are utilised - such as birds of prey.
