Composting

Barr Environmental composts more than 12,000 tonnes of "green" waste every year.

This includes grass cuttings, leaves, hedge-trimmings, plants, and trees from households, parks, and commercial premises.

The composting of biodegradable waste reduces landfilling and produces a nutrient-rich organic growing medium that can be used as a replacement for chemical fertilisers.
